Ceredig Ap was born about 0413 in Of,,Ceredigion,Wales.  Ceredig Ap's father was Cunedda "Wledig" Ap EDERN and his mother was Gwawl Verch COEL.  His paternal grandfather was Edern Ap PADARN. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Tybion Ap, Edern Ap, Rhufon Ap, Afloeg Ap, Ysfael Ap, Einion "Yrth" Ap, Dunog Ap, Dogfael Ap, Gwron Ap, Tegid (Tegeingl) Verch and Gwen Verch.  He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
