Tybion Ap was born about 0408 in Of,Meirionydd,Merionethshire,Wales.  Tybion Ap's father was Cunedda "Wledig" Ap EDERN and his mother was Gwawl Verch COEL.  His paternal grandfather was Edern Ap PADARN. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Edern Ap, Rhufon Ap, Ceredig Ap, Afloeg Ap, Ysfael Ap, Einion "Yrth" Ap, Dunog Ap, Dogfael Ap, Gwron Ap, Tegid (Tegeingl) Verch and Gwen Verch.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.
