Joseph Laurent was born on November 24th, 1690 in La Prairie, Quebec. Joseph Laurent's father was Pierre Lefebvre and his mother was Marie Marguerite Gagne. His paternal grandparents were Robert Lefebvre and Jeanne Autin; his maternal grandparents were Pierre Gagne and Marguerite Rosee. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Francois, Francois, Pierre, Laurent, Gabriel, Marguerite, Marie, Anne and Suzanne. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He had a half-brother named Pierre.-
