Genevieve was born on February 27th, 1672 in L'ange-Gardien, Montmorency, Québec, Canad.  Genevieve's father was Jacques Greslon Dit Laviolette and her mother was Jeanne Vignault.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacques Greslon and Catherine Fauveau; her maternal grandparents were Abel Vignault and Suzanne Bonneau. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Pierre, Jean, Francois, Louis, Pierre, Ursule Marie Greslon Dit, Marie-Jeanne Greslon Dit, Anne, Marguerite, Marie and Angelique.  She was the third youngest of the twelve children.


Genevieve's family with Charles Galarneau

‌Genevieve and Charles were married in a religious ceremony on January 13th, 1689 in Quebec.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Joseph, Charles, Marie Louise, Jeanne and Genevieve Jeanne.
