Reynold was born about 1236 in Shirland, Derbyshire, England.  Reynold's father was John de Grey Justice of Chester and his mother was Emma de Cauz.  His paternal grandparents were Baron Henry De Grey and Isolda Bardolf. He had a brother named Henry.  He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-sisters named Hawise and Emma.  He died on April 5th, 1308 in Wilton Castle, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.
