Malcolm III was born in 1033 in Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland.  Malcolm III's father was King Duncan I Scotland and his mother was Sibyl Fitzsiward.  His paternal grandparents were Crinan Atholl Thane Atholl and Princess Bethoc Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Siward Earl of Northumbria and Alefbed of Bernica. He had seven half-brothers named Malcolm III King of, Donald Ban III King of, Melmare Earl of, Duncan Earl of, Malcolm III King of, Donald Ban III King of and Duncan Earl of.  He died at the age of 60 on November 13th, 1093 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England.  He was buried in Holy Trinity Church, Dumferline, Fifeshire, Scotland.
