Matilda was born in 1031.  Matilda's father was Baldwin V De Lille Count Of Flanders and her mother was Adele Alix Princess Of France.  Her paternal grandparents were Baldwin IV the Bearded Count Of Flanders and Ogive De Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were King Robert II (The Pious) France and Constance deToulouse Queen Of France. She had three brothers and a sister, named Baldwin VI Of Mons, Robert The Friesian, Henry Count and Judith Countess.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Alice.  She died at the age of 52 in 1083.

‌Matilda and The Conqueror were married in a religious ceremony in 1053 in Cathedral of Notre Dame Deu, Normandy.  They had four sons and seven daughters, named Robert II Curthose Duke, William II Rufus, King Of England Henry I Beauclerc, Richard Duke, Adeliza, Cecilia Abbess, Adela Alice Princess, Matilda, Gundred Princess, Agatha and Constance.
