Mathilde's father was Louis IV, d'Outre-Mer of France and her mother was Geberge of Germans, Abbess of Notre Dame.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles III, the Simple of France and Eadgifu of England; her maternal grandparents were Heinrich I, the Fowler of Holy Roman Empire and Matilda Von Ringelheim. She had a brother named Charles. She had two half-sisters named Gerberga de and Alberade.  She died in 0981.

‌Mathilde and Conrad I "the Peaceful" were married in a religious ceremony.  They had two daughters named Bertha and Gerberga.
