John Devou

John was born about 1670 in Mannheim, Baden, Germany. John's father was Nicholas II de Vaux and his mother was Marie Sie. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas de Vaux and Susanne Francois; his maternal grandparents were Jean Sie and Marie Des Pre. He had a brother and three sisters, named Abraham, Marie, Hester and Susanna. He was the second oldest of the five children.
