Earl Alan of Richmond (Niger) 
Alan of Richmond, known as Niger, was born about 1096. Niger's father was Ct. Etienne I of Bretagne and his mother was Cts Hawise of Guingamp. His paternal grandparents were Ct. Eudes of Bretagne and Agnes of Cornouaille. He had three sisters named Aleanor of Penthievre, Maud of Bretagne and Olive of Penthievre. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died on September 15th, 1146.General Notes
