His paternal grandparents were James HALL and Rachel McCOON or MACOUNE or MEEKOUME; his maternal grandparents were James BROWN and Joanna WHITEHEAD. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Joshua, Simeon, Rebecca Jane, Elizabeth, Chloe, Huldah and Desire. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Rebecca.-
