Jean IV was born in 1295. Jean IV's father was Arthur II de Bretagne and his mother was Yolande Comptesse De Montfort de Dreux. His paternal grandparents were Jean II de Bretagne and Beatrice Plantagenet; his maternal grandparents were Robert IV Count Of DREUX and Beatrix De MONTFORT. He had three sisters named Beatrice, Jeanne and Alix. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers named Jean III and Guy de. He died at the age of 50 in 1345.General Notes
