Raoul I De was born in 1164 in La Marche,Poitou,France.1   Raoul I De's father was Hugh VIII De Lusignan and his mother was Orengarde (Nmn-Hugh Viiia) Lusignan.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh VIII "Le Brun" Sire De Lusignan and Bourgogne De RANCON. He had a brother named Hugh IX De.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 55 on May 1st, 1219 in Shenton,Leicestershire,England.  He was buried in Fontblanche Priory,Exoudun.1

‌Raoul I De and Alice de Eu de Hastings were married in a religious ceremony in 1191.1   They had a son and two daughters, named Raoul de Lusignan II, Maud de Lusignan and Jehanne.
