His paternal grandparents were Otto "The Illustrious" Duke of Saxony and Hedwige Friuli; his maternal grandparents were Theodoric Ringelheim and Ludmilla Ragnhildis Countess Of Ringelheim. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Heinrich I Count of, Henry I, Henrich II (I) Duke of (Bavaria), Bruno I, Archbishop of, Otto I, Daughter of Henry I of, Gerberga of, Hedwige, Hedwig or Hartwige and UNKNOWN. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Thangmar, UNKNOWN and (?) von. He died in Mensleben,Saxony,Germany. He was buried in Magdeburg - next to Edith of England.2 General Notes
