Jean II, Count de was born about 1217 in Acre,,Palestine.  Jean II, Count de's father was Jean De BRIENNE and his mother was Berengaria, Princesa de Leon.  His paternal grandparents were Érard II, Count de BRIENNE and Agnès de MONTFAUCON; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso Fernandez IX Rey de Castilla y Leon and Berenguela Reina de Castilla. He had two brothers and a sister, named Alphonse d'Acre de Brienne, Count de, Louis D' Acre and Yolanthe De.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John de Brienne, Crown Prince of and Isabel II, Queen of.  He died in 1296.
