JOHN III "The Red" (Lord) was born about 1269 in Badenoch, Invernesshire, Scotland.1   JOHN III "The Red" (Lord)'s father was JOHN II (Sir) de COMYN and his mother was ELEANOR de BALIOL.  His paternal grandparents were JOHN I (Sir) de COMYN and UNKNOWN ALICIA; his maternal grandparents were JOHN de BALIOL and DEVORGUILLA de GALLOWAY.  He was an only child.  He died in 1306.1
