David C. was born about 1809 in NC.1 David C.'s father was Hugh Shaw and his mother was Elizabeth Finley. He had two brothers named Hugh and Thomas Calhoun, Sr.. were married in Coosa Co., Alabama, by Judge . Ponc, 5/12/1842. They both
died in LA, David in 1862 and Martheba in 1890. Both are buried at the
Mount Zion Church at Wheeling, LA. The graves were lost but a grave
marker for David C is located directly behind the church building with
dates and Indian War information on it. The Shaws originated from North
Carolina into Tennessee into Alabama, Mississippi, and on into
