James D. Rushing 
James D. was born on October 9th, 1875 in Pike Co., AL.1 James D.'s father was John Eager Howard Rushing and his mother was Eliza Jane Jenerett. His paternal grandparents were William Cain Rushing and Mary Ann Rushing; his maternal grandparents were Elias G. Jenerett and Ann Eliza Thomas. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William E., Joseph Johnston, Robert E. Lee, Francis Jack, Francis Adeline, Mary, Ida Lizzie, Hortense and Lottie. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 51 on December 17th, 1926 in Pike Co., AL. He was buried in Goodhope Church Cemetery, Pike Co., AL.1 1 General Notes

On March 11, 1997, Foy Rushing Black and Madge Gibson informed me that
Jimmy died of an appendicitis. However, both confirmed that he was
killed about some bonds out in Texas but it was kept quite.
