Her paternal grandparents were John Thomas Miller and Mary Virginia Smith; her maternal grandparents were Harvey Bazemore and Etta (?). She had two brothers and a sister, named Vesta, Jr., Bloyce and Dorthy Dean. She was the second oldest of the four children.-
