Lawrence McQuown 
Lawrence was born in 1777 in York Co., PA.1 Lawrence's father was David Samuel McQuown and his mother was Margaret Harris. His paternal grandparents were John III McEwen and Susanah Coundour; his maternal grandfather was John Harris. He was an only child. He died at the age of 53 on July 10th, 1830 in Indiana Co., PA. "Lawrence McEwen enlisted from Westmoreland County in the American Army
during the War of 1812. There is no record in Washington D. C. In 1827 he
came to Rayne Township, Indiana County where he engaged in farming and
raising stock. He passed away there in 1830 and was buried in the
Washington Church Cemetery. He was a Whig in his political views and a
member of the old Washington Presbyterian Church." (1)
