John, Jr. was born before 1665 in Scotland.1 John, Jr.'s father was John McEwen. He was an only child. He died about 1749 in Statesville, NC.1 General Notes

Some records state that James Hugh McEwen and Sarah (Sallie) Miller are
the parents of Thomas McEwen.
John, Jr. and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony in Edinburgh/Aberdeen, Scotland.1 They had five sons and three daughters, named John III, Hugh, Thomas, Richard, David, Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret.
