Wife Follows Husband In Death By One Week
Funeral services for Mrs. Digah (J.O.) Sears, 82, of 1014 West Cox will
be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Cason Monk Chapel with interment in
the King Cemetery in Rusk County. Officiating will be the Rev. E. L.
Jones, pastor of the College Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Sears died
Friday in Memorial Hospital, a week after her husband died Sept. 12. They
were married Oct. 7, 1911. Surviving are two sons, O. T. Sears of
Utopia, and G. T. Sears of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Orum of
Nacogdoches, eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Mrs.
Brenda Beasley will direct the music, and pallbearers will be deacons of
the College Heights Baptist Church. Cason Monk Funeral Home will direct
arrangements.
Digah E. and James Owen were married in a religious ceremony on October 7th, 1911 in TX.1 They had two sons and two daughters, named Garvice Turner, Owen Thomas, Juanita and Irene Oran.
