Geoffrey De was born in 1134 in Great Waltham, Essex, England.  Geoffrey De's father was Geoffrey De Mandeville and his mother was [Countess Of Ess Rohese De Vere [Countess Of Ess.  His maternal grandparents were (Sheriff &  Chambertain) Aubrey Alberic "The Monk"  De Vere (Sheriff &  Chambertain) and Mrs. Beatrice (Beatrix) (Nmn-Mrs. De) Vere. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Ernulf De, William De, Robert De, Maud De and Alice De.  He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Simon II De, Beatrice De and Andeline De.  He died at the age of 32 on October 21st, 1166 in Chester, Cheshire, England.  He was buried in Walden Abbey, Saffron Walden, Essex, England.
