Gundred (Adelaide) was born in 1117 in Vermandois, France.  Gundred (Adelaide)'s father was Earl of Surrey William II De Warenne Earl of Surrey and her mother was Isabel De Crepi De Vermandois.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl of Surrey William De Warenne Earl of Surrey and Gundred Princess of England; her maternal grandparents were Hugues De Crepi of France and Adelle (Adelaide) De Vermandois. She had two brothers named Rainald and William III.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert "Bossu", Waleran IV, Isabel Elizabeth, Adeline, Alice and Maud.  She died at the age of 61 in 1178 in Warwickshire, England.

‌Gundred (Adelaide) and William I were married in a religious ceremony about 1154.  They had a son and a daughter, named William and Avicia.
