Robert "The Consul" Of Gloucester was born in 1086 in Caen, Calvodos, France.  Robert "The Consul" Of Gloucester's father was King Henry I "Beauclerc" "The Good Scholar" OF ENGLAND and his mother was Edith FITZFORNE.  His paternal grandparents were King William I The Conqueror "The Bastard" Duke of Normandy OF ENGLAND and Matilda OF FLANDERS; his maternal grandfather was Lord Forne OF Greystoke FITZSIGULF. He had a sister named Elizabeth.  He was the older of the two children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Reginald Dunstanville Of Cornwall, Henry FitzHenry, William I Of Bradninch, Gilbert, Matilda "The Empress" Of England, Constance, Alice and Edith.  He died at the age of 61 on October 31st, 1147.  He was buried in St. James Priory.
