Malcolm "Ceann'Moir" was born in 1031 in Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland.  Malcolm "Ceann'Moir"'s father was King Duncan "The Gracious" ap Crinan de Mormaer I of Scotland and his mother was Queen Sybil (Aelflaed) FitzSiward of Scotland.  His paternal grandparents were Mormaer Crininan [Crinan; Grimus] "The Thane" de Mormaer of Atholl and Princess Bethoc [Beatrix; Beatrice] ferch Malcolm of Atholl or Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Prince Bode (Beodhe; Bjorn) Boete (Bearsson) of Scotland and Aefflaed [Aelfled Elfleda] of Bernicia. He had a brother named Malcolm III.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 62 on November 13th, 1093 in Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, England.  He was buried in Escorial, Madrid, Spain.

‌Malcolm "Ceann'Moir" and Margaret "The Exile" "Saint" were married in a religious ceremony in 1068 in Dumfermline Abbey, Fife, Scotland.  They had a son and two daughters, named David "The Saint of Scotland", Matilda (Edith) and Mary.
