Joan De was born about 1175 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  Joan De's father was William III 5Th Baron De Braose Lord Bramber and her mother was Maud (Matilda) De St. Valery [Lady Of Lahaie].  Her paternal grandparents were William II De Braose 1st Baron Of Gwentland and Bertha De Pitres Heiress Of Brecon/Hereford; her maternal grandparents were Bernard IV De St. Valery and Eleanor De Domnart. She had thirteen brothers and six sisters, named Roger De, Robert De, Thomas De, Giles De, William IV The Younger De, Walter De, Reginald De, Hugh De, Henry De, Bernard De, Fulk De, Phlilp De, John De, Flandrina De, Matilda De, Laurette De, Margaret De, Leuca De and Eleanor De.  She was the seventh oldest of the twenty children.  She died on November 13th, 1215 in Gloucester, Gloustershire, England.
