Roma Everett Southern 
Roma Everett was born on July 16th, 1878 in Monroe Co., Indiana. Roma Everett's father was Milton Southern and his mother was Alice Phillips. He was an only child. He died at the age of 78 on June 17th, 1957 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried in Mt. Ebal Cemetery, Monroe Co., Indiana.General Notes
Roma Everett Southern, 78, retired stone quarryman, died Monday afternoon
at his home Bloomington R 4. He was a native of Monroe County and last
worked at the University Limestone quarries. He was a member of the
Assembly of God Church at Harrodsburg.
Survivors include his wife Alice Southern; a son, Eugene Southern,
Bedford R 4; Mrs. Ruth Eads, Bloomington R 4; Mrs Maudlean McNeal,
Bedford R 4; and Mrs. Audlean Miller, Bloomington R 5; two brothers,
Thomas Southern, Bedford R 4; Ira Southern, Bloomington R 3; a sister,
Mrs Flo Smickles, Indianapolis R 1; 10 grandchildren and two great
grandsons.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Ebal
Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Reginald A. Yake
will officiate. Paullbearers will be Donald, Herschel and Wayne
Southern, Junior Deckard, Robert Miller and Charles Freeman.
Flowerbearers will be granddaughters and include Rogenia and Carolyn
Eads, Lana Fay Covey, Roberta Miller, Alberta Freeman and Brenda

‌Roma Everett and Gertrude Alice were married in a religious ceremony on January 7th, 1915. They had two sons and four daughters, named Eugene, Virgil, Agnes Marie, Audleen, Maudleen and Ruth.

Eugene Southern
Eugene was born on March 29th, 1919. He died at the age of 81 on February 5th, 2001 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried on February 8th, 2001 in Henson Cemetery.
