Gertrude Alice was born in 1900 in Allens Creek, Polk Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana. Gertrude Alice's father was King Anthony Mone Deckard and her mother was Mary Mol Jane Eads. Her paternal grandparents were John Stewart and Elizabeth Deckard; her maternal grandparents were Elijah Eads and Laura Alice Sexton. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Herbert, Marshal, Otto S., Ora, Dillon, Curtis Cecil, Golda Verge and Cordillia. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Marion, Eli, Robert, Melvina, Mary Ellen, Jane and Sissie Mollie. She died at the age of 84 on July 7th, 1984 in Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana.-
