Ida Florence was born on December 25th, 1869. Ida Florence's father was William Taylor Shields and her mother was Amanda Ellen Deckard. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry Harrison Shields and Mary Ellen Hudlin; her maternal grandparents were Andrew Deckard and Mary Ann Chambers. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, William Andrew, Charles, Ora L., Cora Alma, Grace M., Ann P. and Ruby. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 68 on March 17th, 1938 in Monroe County, Indiana. She was buried in Knight Ridge Cemetery, Salt Creek Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana.General Notes
