Solon Mathers 
Solon was born in December 1843. Solon's father was Samuel Mathers and his mother was Mary L. "Betsy" Shields. His maternal grandparents were William L., Sr. Shields and Nancy Elizabeth Nash. He had a brother and a sister, named Marion and Mary E.. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 5 on December 31st, 1848 in Monroe County, Indiana.
