Mary E. Mathers 
Mary E. was born in October 1840. Mary E.'s father was Samuel Mathers and her mother was Mary L. "Betsy" Shields. Her maternal grandparents were William L., Sr. Shields and Nancy Elizabeth Nash. She had two brothers named Marion and Solon. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 1 in October 1841 in Monroe County, Indiana.
