Griffin (Tipsword) Sowards 
Griffin (Tipsword) was born on October 10th, 1755 in Bucks County,Pennsylvania. Griffin (Tipsword)'s father was Isaac Sowards and his mother was Miliston Vanderford. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Seward and Susannah; his maternal grandparents were William Vanderford and Rebecca Prentiss. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Isaac, Miliston, Nelley, Rebecca and Ruth. He died at the age of 90 in 1845 in Illinois.-
