James Cooper 
James was born on February 4th, 1808. James' father was Henry Cooper and his mother was Lydia Elizabeth Posey. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin J., John S., Henry "Harry", Lemuel, Nancy Ann, Serena and Mahala. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 82 on June 21st, 1890.General Notes
Operated a mail forwarding station at the intersection of the Parkersburg-Elizabeth-Charleston Pikes during the war between the states. His home was an unofficial Confederate Post Office. The house stood in Mineral Wells, WV near where the Hampton Inn is currently located.
James and Lucy Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on January 10th, 1833 in Wood County,WV.
