Patience's father was William Congdon and her mother was Ann Gifford. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Congdon and Frances Stafford; her maternal grandparents were Yelverton Gifford and Ann Northup. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named William, James, Stephen, Yelverton, Hannah, Frances, Susanna, Mercy, Mary, Dorcas, Sarah and Ann.General Notes
