Stephen was born on May 17th, 1748 in North Kingstown,Washington,RI,USA. Stephen's father was William Congdon and his mother was Ann Gifford. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Congdon and Frances Stafford; his maternal grandparents were Yelverton Gifford and Ann Northup. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named William, James, Yelverton, Hannah, Frances, Susanna, Mercy, Mary, Dorcas, Sarah, Patience and Ann. He died at the age of 91 on August 30th, 1839 in North Kingstown,Washington Co.,RI.General Notes
