William Winstead 
William was born in 1843 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. William's father was John Winstead and his mother was Fanny Lawson. His paternal grandparents were Ezekiel Winstead and Mourning Watkins. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Malin, Gaines, James, Madison, Amos Jackson, John Wilson, Fuller Willis, John Mallot, Nancy Jane, Orlena, Mary Ann and Sarah. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Rufas and Laura.-
