John Skelton 
John was born in 1850 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. John's father was Samuel Skelton and his mother was Julia. His paternal grandparents were James Skelton and Anna Curry. He had four sisters named Matilda, Sarah, Julia and Mary. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had two half-sisters named Anna Jane and Elizabeth.
