Gaines Whittley Shipley 
Gaines Whittley was born in 1865 in Tennessee. Gaines Whittley's father was William Milburn Shipley and his mother was Elizabeth Kinnaird. His paternal grandparents were Eli Wilson Shipley and Mahala Ann Felts; his maternal grandparents were Moses Kinnaird and Mary. He had three brothers named Harvey Richard, John Samuel and Zebedee Lafayette. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 43 in 1908.-
