Jack Shanks 
Jack was born in 1858 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Jack's father was Henry Shanks and his mother was Jane. His paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. He had two brothers and a sister, named Harvey, Gaines and Nancy. He was the second youngest of the four children.
