John Alexander Rogers 
John Alexander was born on July 15th, 1789 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. John Alexander's father was Joseph Rogers and his mother was Mary Amis. His paternal grandparents were James Rogers and Elizabeth Brown; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Amis and Alice Gale. He had four brothers and nine sisters, named James, Thomas Amis, Robert, Joseph, Eliza M., Rachel, Frances Grantham, Margaret E., Lucy, Alice Gale, Louisiana N., Malinda and Nancy F.. He was the second oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 84 in 1873 in , Kerr, Texas.-
