Mary Amis 
Mary was born on August 27th, 1768 in , Duplin, North Carolina. Mary's father was Thomas Amis and her mother was Alice Gale. Her paternal grandparents were John Amis and Mary Dillard; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Whitney Gale and Mary Griffith. She had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Willis, Lincoln, Thomas Gale, Tabitha, Frances, Elizabeth, Rachel, Alice Gale and Penelope. She was the third oldest of the eleven children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Haynes, William, James and Nancy. She died at the age of 65 on November 30th, 1833 in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
