Henry Clay was born in 1843 in , , Kentucky. Henry Clay's father was Greenberry Reid and his mother was Amanda Langston. His paternal grandparents were William S. Reid and Jemima Hedges; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Langston and Isabella Clark. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John W., George Washington, Agnes, Louisa Or Lou C. and Amanda Jane. He was the third youngest of the six children.-
