Barton Gerrett was born on November 27th, 1822 in , Henry, Virginia. Barton Gerrett's father was Joseph Nance and his mother was Mary Or Polly Philpott. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Nance and Nancy Brown. He was an only child. He died at the age of 65 on May 15th, 1888.-
