John's father was Ireson Longacre and his mother was Anne Sharp. His maternal grandparents were John Sharp and Elizabeth Laughlin. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Addison, Ireson W., Amanda, Ann Marie, Margaret and Sarah Sharp.-
