Mary Ann was born on October 2nd, 1844 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Mary Ann's father was Lazarus Lawson and her mother was Helen Maria Rogers. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Lawson and Polly Or Mary Dodson. She had six brothers and a sister, named George W., Joseph Rogers, Robert, Jacob, Lazarus, Lawson and Eliza. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 2 on April 27th, 1847 in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
