Sarah's father was Watson Ketron and her mother was Mary Cookenhour. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Kettering and Susannah Sluss; her maternal grandparents were Jacob Cookenhour and Mary. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John Wesley, Joseph H., Reuben J., William E., Alice E., Ella R. and Mary Ann.-
