Maria Hughes

Maria was born in 1817 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  Maria's father was Abner Hughes and her mother was Sarah Iddings.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Iddings and Alice Howell. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Louisa, Elizabeth and Lucinda.  She was the oldest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Samuel, John, James, Abner, Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Mary.  She died at the age of 72 in 1889.
