Joel Gillenwater 
Joel was born on February 17th, 1802 in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee. Joel's father was Thomas Gillenwater and his mother was Mary Mallory Wilkins. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Gillenwater and Martha; his maternal grandparents were William Wilkins and Elizabeth Terrell. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William Terrell, Robert Wilkins, Thomas Jefferson, Elizabeth, Martha Or Patsy, Nancy, Rachel, Mary Ann and Sarah. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 78 on February 17th, 1880 in Rushville, Schuyler, Illinois.-
