Margaret was born on February 4th, 1794 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Margaret's father was James Forgey and her mother was Margaret F. Caldwell. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Forgey and Margaret. She had a brother and six sisters, named James Reynolds, Ann, Mary Or Polly, Ellen, Matilda, Elizabeth and Rachel. She was the oldest of the eight children.-
